Norma Drimmer in her exhibition titled TRANSIT- ION @ Memory of the Future is evoking interrogations related to individual and collective identities seen through the prism of migration.
Identifying the hypothesis that man today is by definition a migrant, she questions, via her tools of expressions, (photography and video), the significances that voluntary migration, forced or by mass, can have on the scale of society and or on an individual levels…The loss of familiar references, the fear of these we do not know and adapting to a society that is in constant trasformation...
Mémoire de l’Avenir chose to represent this exhibit in this very strong period marked by this remarkable phenomena and action de TRANSIT & TRANSITION influenced by hunger, ecology, poverty, political choices, post colonization’s, war, ideologies, re definition of populations and borders, the need to change, to re think and work with nature and Men for new and better harmony.
Huge movements of migrations, the COP 21, acts of violence and hurt mix all at once under one period of time, leaving us all perplex, willing to contribute, and hope for better living together in a world beyond its infinite borders .
Norma Drimmer worked on different aspects of these plurals questions, we will represent 3 of her main line of investigation, while the subject is vast, complex and we. Here by we tempt with the artist to open the debate, using her art as a port for the encounter between people and themes that requires our awareness and engagements, learning and understanding of the pluralities of histories
