From March 27th to April 24th , 2015 - MEMORY OF THE FUTURE Gallery presents PaperWork.
The exhibition offers an immersion into the universe of 10 artists that paper is their common ground, a medium of production and reproduction, through which articulated plural identities and graphical languages, as aesthetical societal or individual or collective memorial preoccupations.
Through a paper support the artists can question the reality as the world of fantasy or they interrogate facts through the imaginary.
Paper is an ephemeral medium, intimate, inviting for a free and direct expression of thought, it is a way to leave a trace, to communicate, to pass on…
It is a Support for numerous artistic approaches, from drawing to photography, from sculpture to installation, passing through the various printing techniques. Paper has offered the world sharing and democratization of ideas, of knowledge, of thoughts and of Art.
Evoking in particular the medium of drawing is equivalent to convene WRITING.
Indeed the Greek etymology for the word to “INSCRIBE” is -GRAPHEIN - which means to "WRITE".
Both words function together in the path of a line transforming into signs and marks, within the attention of the transmission of IDEAS.
It is the plurality of inscription and impressions that this exhibition is aiming to investigate and to discover , intuitive, sensitive and immediate transcribes: accessible to all, proposing topics such as liberty of movement and of wayfaring, of aspects of history, of man's relationship to animals and to his environment, from construction to destruction ...
